Dr. Sheldon C. Chaffer II is a board-certified internist and nephrologist whose unique background bridges the gap between professional medical authority and real-world survival. A Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology, Dr. Chaffer has served as an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine for 16 years, and he currently operates as a solo nephrologist covering five rural Texas counties.
Beyond his clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Chaffer brings invaluable trauma and preparedness experience to his role as a medical spokesperson, having served six years as an infantryman in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1981 to 1987. An Eagle Scout since the age of 16, his lifelong dedication to service is further highlighted by his time as a first responder during the devastating 2004 tsunami in Bandah Aceh, Indonesia.
